Freeda x Warner Bros.

This is a collection of campaigns that I worked on across 2023 - 2024 at Freeda, in partnership with Warner Bros. I produced a range of carousels to promote upcoming Warner Bros. films including Barbie and The Color Purple.

Barbie

I designed this carousel for the Barbie campaign, I worked with an in-house writer to conceptualise the layout and imagery that we wanted to use based on the themes discussed in the carousel. I worked hard to blend the branding of Barbie with the established aesthetic of Freeda content, using colours like the pink and blue from the film’s branding, while using the fonts and illustration style present across other Freeda content. All photographs were supplied by Warner Bros. and all illustrations were drawn by me.

The Color Purple

Another carousel I designed was for The Color Purple. Once again working with an in-house writer we worked out the imagery we would use on each frame together and I started designing from there. I wanted to use purple as the primary colour for this carousel because it made the most sense with how prominent the colour purple is in the film. This was another mixed media carousel with a mixture of images from the film and press as well as original illustrations. I chose to illustrate cosmo flowers as they play a significant role in the film, I also drew a banjo on slide five as it discusses music in the film and the character Mister plays the banjo in the film. All photographs were supplied by Warner Bros. and all illustrations were drawn by me.

Challengers

This carousel was designed for Challengers carousel, I took a slightly different approach with this one as I had very limited stills from the film to work with, however I had a wide range of GIFs to work with, which is why three of the frames are animated. I also chose to create a gradient that flows across the carousel using the Freeda green and Challengers purple, it separates each frame nicely creating a sharable slide with each one, whilst also creating flow across the seven frames as you follow the gradient. All photographs were supplied by Warner Bros. and all illustrations were drawn by me.
